Measures the body’s serotonin levels aiding in the diagnosis of carcinoid tumors.
The serotonin panel is useful when the individual shows signs of a possible carcinoid tumor. Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, rapid heart rate, difficulty breathing and flushing of the face and neck. High levels of serotonin do not mean a tumor exists but does suggest further testing needs to be completed.
