Measures the levels of Creatine in the blood.
Creatine is an enzyme produced in the body by the muscles, which includes all primary muscle groups: skeletal, heart and brain. Injured or diseased muscle cells can cause enzyme leakage into the body’s bloodstream.
High levels may indicate renal failure, heart attack, muscular dystrophy, autoimmune myositis, injury or muscle damage or extreme muscle breakdown. Low levels of creatine may indicate rheumatoid arthritis or liver disease due to alcohol abuse.
